Past trip

Myrtle Beach

📅 June 8–12, 2026 👥 Sean & Christy 🏖 On the boardwalk, Ocean Enclave 🚗 Road trip in Arthur (the Tesla)

Four easy days downtown on the boardwalk — a wildlife boat tour with friends, a minor-league ballgame, a 1930s castle by the sea, a ropes course, and plenty of unhurried beach time. Exactly the pace we wanted.

How the week went

MonArrival

Drive over & settle in

Made the drive from Kinards, checked in mid-afternoon, and eased into the trip with a beach walk and a balcony sunset. Wandered down to the Hot Summer Nights glow party on the boardwalk that evening.

Sun, then the Pelicans

A full beach-and-pool day, then out to a Myrtle Beach Pelicans home game in the evening — exactly the kind of low-key summer night we love.

Waccamaw River, the MarshWalk & a castle

Christy’s longtime friend and family drove up from Charleston to join us for a 90-minute wildlife pontoon tour on the Waccamaw River, followed by a waterfront lunch on the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk. After goodbyes, we toured Atalaya Castle at Huntington Beach State Park, then headed back for an easy evening.

Slow morning, then a little adventure

A relaxed beach-and-pool morning, an afternoon on the Soar + Explore ropes course and zipline, and a dinner out to cap the day.

Outlets on the way back

Checked out, topped off Arthur, and made a stop at the Tanger Outlets on Highway 501 — right on the route home to Kinards.

The short version

What we’d do again

The Wednesday boat tour with friends was the highlight — shaded, easy, and a great way to see the river. Staying right on the boardwalk meant everything was walkable, and mixing one social day with a couple of quiet ones was the right rhythm.
